He married Ethel Laughlin on July 23, 1976, at Keosauqua, IA.
He graduated from Granger (MO) High School, served in the U.S. Army 1953-1956, where he graduated from mechanic and welding schools, operated Biggs Texaco Station and Wrecker Service for 30 years and later was employed at Barker Co., Ltd., both in Keosauqua, IA, and served several years on the Keosauqua City Council.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Gary Biggs of Boyne Falls, MI, Bryan Biggs of Fairfield, IA, and Bruce Biggs of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a daughter, Cynthia Clawson of Fairfield, IA; a stepson, Rex Stutzman of Keosauqua, IA; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Shelley of Memphis, MO; two brothers, Joedd Biggs of Platte City, MO and Robert Tipton Biggs of Omaha, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Doud.
Funeral services were held February 1, 2006, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, IA, with Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds, IA. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 21563 110th St., Birmingham, IA 52535.
