Singer. He was lead vocalist for the doo-wop group Lee Andrews and the Hearts. Born Arthur Lee Andrews Thompson in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The group formed in Philadelphia, Pennysylvania in 1953, their biggest hits came in 1957 and 1958 with Long Lonely Nights, Tear Drops and Try The Impossible. In 1960 the group had a brief breakup, they were renamed at times as 5 Hearts or the Famous Hearts, they continued recording until 1968. The Hearts were inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance’s Walk of Fame in 1992.
