From the Douglas County Herald, Douglas County, Missouri, of August 10, 1911:
One of the saddest accidents that ever happened in our neighborhood occurred Saturday, July 29th when Milo Decker, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Z. E. Decker fell into a pan of boiling water and was scalded so severely that death resulted on Sunday evening. The little boy was about 20 months old. This accident is doubly sad as the parents lost their oldest son just 10 months ago. The funeral was conducted by Rev. T. D. Williams of Beaver. The body was laid to rest in Dogwood Cemetery.
