George was my grandfather.

GARDEN CITY – Funeral service for George Woods, 64, who died Tuesday in Watertown, will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in United Methodist Church. The Rev. John DeVries will officiate and burial will be in the city cemetery.

He was born Aug. 16, 1908 to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Woods in David City, Neb., and came to the Bryant area as an infant and attended school there. He married Muriel Barber on June 22, 1940 in Huron. They lived in and around Kingsbury County until 1959 when they moved to Garden City. He was an associated member of Wesleyan Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow; three sons, LeRoy, Garden City, Dean, Watertown, and Duane, Castlewood; a daughter, Helen Garden City; two brothers, Fay, Watertown, and Marle, Anaconda, Mont.; four sisters, Mrs. Vernetta Reynolds, Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. Edna Ziegler, Volga, Mrs. Willard (Phyllis) Armagost, Rising City, Neb., and Mrs. Gerhardt (Cleo) Koch, Watertown, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, May and Elva.

Friends may call at Community Funeral Home, Clark, Thursday and Friday and at the church before the service Saturday.
