Following an illness of many weeks, Elijah G. Allen, 82, long time resident of York county, died at his home, 614 Beaver avenue, this morning about 7:30 o'clock.
Mr. Allen was born in Iowa on Sept. 10, 1853. In 1877 he came to Nebraska and settled on a farm southeast of York where he resided until about 19 years ago. Since retiring from the farm he has maintained his residence in York.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annis Allen of York; one son, Bert Allen of Grand Island; and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Evans of Stillwater, Okla.
