U.S. Congressman. He attended St. John’s School of Law College, in 1933, was admitted to the bar in 1938 and commenced the practice of law in New York City. He was permitted to practice laws before the U.S. Treasury Department and the Supreme Court of the United States and was a trustee of Hamburg Savings Bank. In 1953, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-third Congress and to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until his resignation in 1960. He was judge of the Queens County Court, (1960-62) and justice of the New York State Supreme Court, eleventh judicial district, until his retirement in 1974.
