Clara needed help and was hospitalized in 1933, she was a patient for 9 1/2 years. She died of heart failure at the age of 45 and when family couldn't afford to bring her back to Lincoln County, her home town, she was buried in a cemetery for the patients on the hospital grounds. Today, the hospital and cemetery is just a memory, the hospital was torn down and the cemetery was destroyed by years of neglect and mother nature. There is a factory built on the grounds now, some say the markers are all broken up and in a pile under a tree. Just last year, I, her granddaughter-in-law found her death certificate that verified her burial on the grounds of the hospital till then even her children didn't know what happened to her remains, that bit of information went to the grave with her husband, who knew. I am placing Mrs. Clara on Find a Grave so that maybe others out there will see it and know that even though it might take years, if you don't give up then your lost loved ones can be found. Maybe others will add their loved ones to this cemetery if they are there so that Mrs. Clara won't be alone. Just knowing I found her gives me peace, I hope she rests in peace as well.
