Robert Bobbie L. Brooks age 90 of Killen, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Brooks was born April 17, 1921 in Limestone County to Ervin Tish Brooks and Minnie Clem Brooks. Services will be Friday, December 16, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in Hastings Cemetery with Bro. Mike Crews officiating. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Baptist Church and a United States Veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Brooks. Survived by a daughter, Diane McBay (Dennis) of Fayetteville, TN; brother, David G. Brooks (Ann) of Killen; three sisters, Ruby Cline of Greenhill, AL., Mabel Black of Killen and Susie Wakefield of Benton Harbor, MI.; two brother-in-laws, Bobby Scharich (Ruth Ann), Harold Scharich; sister-in-law, Ila Fleissner all of Flint, MI.; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bob Brooks, Johnny Cline, Jason Teeples and Israel Porfil, Jason Dendy and Kevin Drewett.

Diana is the daughter of Bobbie and first wife Edna Vivian Moyers Brooks.

Bobbie was drafted and entered into the US Army on September 12, 1942 at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Accidently injured when a tanker rolled off a flatbed transport truck onto the jeep in which daddy was following on January 17, 1944 in Naples, Italy. Due to many broken bones and severe injuries a Medical discharge followed much later.
