Marguerite was born in Crowley, LA to Emile Boudreaux and Ella Hoffpauir Boudreaux.
Marguerites whole world was centered around her children and grandchildren, this is what she enjoyed the most. She also had a green thumb and was able to grow and nurture any plant that came her way. Marguerites favorite day was Sunday as she cooked for her family stirring the pots with love and dedication. Marguerite and her second husband James V. Benoit owned and operated the Greyhound Bus Station and Cafe in Crowley for many years. She also had a true love for the City of Crowley.
She is survived by her two sons, Rufus Reed Bertrand and his wife Kay of Scott, and Michael James Bertrand of New Iberia; two grandchildren who were the light of her life, Cyd Alyse Bertrand of Kenner, LA and Lex Reed Bertrand of Scott; two sisters, Mary Alice Plaisance and her husband Mike of Houston, Tx and Sue Ella Auclair and her husband Tory also of Houston, TX.
Mrs. Benoit is preceded by her parents; one brother, John D Boudreaux; a great granddaughter, Brynlie Duhon Bertrand; the father of her children, Joseph Reed Bertrand and her second husband James V Benoit.
The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Lloyd Plaisance for his love and dedication while Marguerite was able to be home. We would also like to thank the whole staff at Magnolia Place Nursing home for taking such good care of her, with their kindness, compassion and their loving hearts. We would also like to thank Pat Richard and Hospice of Acadiana for their kindness and dedication as well.
