In her Rhinebeck obituary it states that Louise Van Keuren married her second husband, Daniel Hearn in 1907. This was a misprint, it should have read '1917'. Here is why: A Rhinebeck newspaper mini article states "Miss Maude VanKeuren spent last Saturday and Sunday with her sister Mrs Edwin Bodenstein in Staatsburgh". That was my first clue that the "Frederick" name was misleading, so I started checking the census records. I find the Bodenstein family in the 1892 NY State census living in Hyde Park {This includes Frederick, Mary, Edwin and Nettie May} Then once again in the US census for 1900 the four Bodenstein's are still living in Hyde Park. When I checked the 1910 census I now find Edwin F. Bodenstein living with his wife Louise and their TWO TWIN SONS, Edwin F. Jr. and Franklin Otto. The date itself shows that Louise could not have married second husband Daniel in 1907, but the big news is that the twins were born as Bodensteins. An obituary from July of 1914 states that "Edwin Bodenstein died at his home in Staatsburgh early Friday morning after a long illness" ....the obit also mention he leaves a wife and twin sons. It also mentions his parents and his sister who at that time was known as Mrs Nellie Foelker. Now the marriage date of 1917 makes much more sense. As late as Aug 1922 an article about the twins being in town from Newark to visit their grandparents Fred and Mary still refers to them as "Bodenstein". Yet three years later when Franklin dies in Newark at age 16 he is referred to as "Franklin Hearn" and his parents as being "Mr. & Mrs Daniel Hearn" It also mentions Franklin was born in Staatsburgh, but makes no mention what so ever of his real father being Edwin F. Bodenstein. I don't know whether Daniel had adopted them at this point or people just assumed they were Hearns. sumed they were Hearns. - info from Rafer #46796073
