Agnes and Andrew came to the US in 1921 aboard the SS Olympic, arriving on Ellis Island on May 11, 1921. They settled in LaSalle, Ill., where Andrew worked as a painting and decorating contractor. Agnes and Andrew never had any children, but Agnes' niece, Joyce MARFELL, spent a lot of time at their home. Joyce considered her Aunt Agnes as somewhat of a second mother and spoke often of her and their time together.
After Andrew's death, Agnes married John Julius Winter (b. 1/28/1884, d. 9/30/1958 in Miami, Fla.). John's parents were George and Katherine WINTER, from LaSalle, Ill. (John had two brothers, Louis H. and Lester A. who both lived in Florida. John had lost a first wife, Mary RUSSELL.)
Agnes and John lived in Florida during their marriage although it is uncertain if they married before moving there or after. John and his father ran a nursery in LaSalle, and after John moved to Florida around 1923, he ran a nursery in that state also. John passed away in Florida in the Ramsey Nursing Home and was buried in Woodlawn Park Cemetery in Miami, Fla.
Agnes passed away in December 1962 and was laid to rest with Andrew in Forest Lawn Cemetery in LaSalle, Ill.
