One of twin girls born to Sierra Swann, 17, and Nathaniel Broadway, 24. Both girls were alledgedly killed by their parents...victims of child abuse. They had fractured skulls and fractured ribs and showed signs of severe malnutrition. Police said the couple was living in a vacant home that had no electricity or furniture other than a mattress and a crib. The basement, where the couple lived, was littered with piles of debris.

The twins were born April 12. The first baby was delivered before the mother got to the hospital, officials said. The woman took a taxi to Johns Hopkins Hospital where the second girl was born.

The couple's first child -- then 1 1/2 years old -- was placed into foster care in December after the state Child Protective Services confirmed a neglect and abuse complaint. Case workers apparently did not know the mother was pregnant at the time, and she had no prenatal care.
