ROCK SPRINGS - Funeral services for Ronald Leo Gunyan, Sr., 83, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at the Vase Funeral Chapel. Arlen Hughes will conduct the services. Friends may call at the Vase Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m., today, Jan. 16, 2008, and again one hour prior to service on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. Interment will be in the Mountain View Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.He died Jan. 11, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1924, in Rock Springs, the son of Benjamin Nathan and Lillian Geneva Cashmere Gunyan.He attended schools in Rock Springs. He married Rosetta Louise Manlove in Quincy, Ill., on Aug. 17, 1946. He was employed as a mechanic for Debernardi Construction for 36 years until his retirement. His interests included hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, spending time with family and friends, pacifying his wife for 61 years. He disliked long-winded preachers! He is survived by his wife Rosetta Gunyan of Rock Springs; sons, Ronald Gunyan, Jr. and wife, Myron Gunyan and wife, Richard Gunyan, Sr. and wife and Michael Gunyan and wife, all of Rock Springs; daughters, Sharon Gunyan of Casper, Frances Jennings and husband of Rock Springs; Bernadette Trujillo and husband of Rock Springs and Lillian Dominguez and husband of Belen, N.M.; brother, Jack Gunyan of Rock Springs; 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Gerald and Wayne Gunyan; brothers, Bob Gunyan and Richard Gunyan; sisters, Eileen Washam, Verna Chabre, Betty Hoffman, Florence Markisich, Lila Kettering and Dorothy Corder; and one granddaughter.
