WINSLOW - Philip Begin died on Friday, June 26, 2015, in Winslow. He was born in Waterville on Nov. 10, 1946, the son of Norman and Marie (Martin) Begin. He was a graduate of Clinton High School.
Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years, participating in the Vietnam Conflict as an Electronics Technician, aboard the destroyer USS Cogswell.
Following his Naval service, he was employed by New England Telephone for 23 years. He then operated Begin Telephone Service for 19 years, retiring in 2010.
Phil is survived by his wife of 39 years, Juanita (Bouchard) Begin; a son, Adam Begin of Denver, Colo., a daughter, Sarah Begin and fiancé Stewart Quigley of Reno, Nev.; and by a sister, Kim Sawyer of Maricopa, Ariz.
He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Winslow.
Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Arrangements are with Gallant Funeral Home, Inc., 10 Elm St., Waterville. (Central Maine 6/30/2015)
