Mr. Pier, a produce dealer living in Washington, D.C. for past 10 years died Friday in Emergency Hospital after being ill for two months; he was only 34 years old. Funeral services were from the home of Mr. Pier's sister, Mrs. Alice P. Rosasco of 11th Street, SE. He is survived by his widow, Nellie (Woodbury) PIER, three brothers (William, Edward and Howard Pier), and seven sisters (Mrs. Rosasco, Mrs. Hattie Gensberg, Mrs. George Sutcliffe, Mrs. Mary Annie Lee Reid, Mrs. Edward Beagle, Mrs. Rob Mangumn, and Mrs. Otha Summers). Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, MD. just off the Suitland Parkway. Mr. Pier's first marriage to Lennis (Ramey/Stickles) Pier ended in divorce, but produced a son Robert Lester Pier.
