Della Marie Robinson was born on January 8, 1958 in Newark, New Jersey. She was the fifth of six children born to Annie and the late Ernest Robinson. The Lord came quietly and took Della on the morning of October 12, 2012.

Della was educated in the Newark Public School System. She was a proud eighth grade graduate of Chancellor Avenue School and sang The National Anthem at her graduation ceremony at Weequahic High School in 1976. This experience and many others thrust her into a life-long love for singing and playing the piano. "Sissie" (as she was known to many) played for several area choirs including the T.H. Rankin Ensemble (First Zion Hill Church), Clinton Avenue Presbyterian Church, United Missionary Baptist Church, Trinity Church and a host of others. She would NEVER leave the piano bench empty at an event and could be seen providing music for anyone that needed her talents. Della also performed for weddings, concerts etc. with several musical groups throughout her life. "Della and the Fellas" was the last of these groups before she decided to concentrate on a solo career.

Della became frustrated with the music industry in 2009 and embarked on a project of self-promotion. She founded the AER record company named for her parents. She released a single "To Win Your Heart" in 2010 and was set to release the second single "Walk Into My Life" before her untimely death.

Della was a fun-loving spirit that immediately brightened any room. Her performances were always astounding but she really flourished in church. Della LOVED the Lord. Her passion for gospel music was uplifting and infectious.

Della was a loving and devoted family member. She was predeceased in death by her father, Ernest Robinson, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories to: her mother, Annie Robinson; her son, Brian Graham, two sisters; Debra Turner (spouse Julian Turner), Gloria Hudson (spouse John Hudson); three brothers: Ernest Robinson, Jr. (wife Valerie), George Robinson and Daryl Robinson (wife Dorcas Robinson); a HOST of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, musicians and churches.
