Samuel Frederick Brenn was the son of John Henry & Anna (McAdams) Brenn. John Henry Brenn was b. 1840 in Pennsylvania and his father Jacob was b. 1797 in Bavaria. John's mother Anna was from PA. Sam's mother Anna McAdams was b. 1836 in Illinois.

Sam had 2 siblings, they were:

1. Lura Brenn (Brady), b. 1867 IL -
2. Charles Brenn, b. 1873 IL -

On 10 Jul 1902 Sam married Maud Genevieve Kennedy in Chicago. Maud was a teacher from Hopewell twp, Marshall County, Illinois.

After they were married the couple moved to Oregon before settling in Pomona, California. Sam worked there and opened his own barbershop.

Sam & Maud adopted 2 girls when Maud's brother James lost his wife. Her brother had 5 children to raise and Maud had none. Sam & Maud loved the girls greatly. They made sure both girls had a good education.

Their girls were:

1. Bernice Marion, 1913 IL - 1932 CA Graduated Valedictorian from her high school and died in a car accident on the way to college. She is buried in this cemetery. Find A Grave Memorial 15722589
2. Helen Jane, 1917 IL - 2020 CA. Find A Grave Memorial 206602160. Helen became a teacher and married Earl House. They had a son.

Sam & Maude loved their girls and enjoyed living in California.
