James Roy Carey, III, of Ozark, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005, in his home. He was born September 8, 1954, the son of James and Mary (Loveland) Carey. On May 15, 1975, he and Linda Kay Gilbert were united in marriage. Jim was a photographer, and had also been employed by an air freight company at "Spirit of St. Louis Airport" in St. Louis. He rededicated his life to his Lord in 1993, and was a member of Harvest Community Church of the Nazarene in Rogersville, where he was also a Sunday School Teacher. Jim loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Survivors include his wife Linda; two children, Mylinda Moomaw and her husband Jason, El Dorado Springs, and Sean James Patrick Carey and his wife Chandra, Springfield; his parents, James and Mary Carey, Ozark; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Randy and Cindy Carey, Ozark, Steve and Marsha Carey, Marshfield, Evonda and Stanley Swayne, Ozark, Sherry and Tom Washburn, Springfield, and Greg Carey, Ozark; a sister-in-law and her husband, Carla and Wayne Asby, Halfway; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, Ireland McKenzie Moomaw. He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Matthew Carey and his grandparents. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Doug Zimmerman, Rev. Garald Pugh, and Rev. David Clouse officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
