~~My Paternal Aunt Chickie, one of the kindest Aunts anyone could wish for~~~~~

Obituary as it appeared in newspaper.Mary E. Veech of Copiague, formerly of Massapequa, L.I. on January 11, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Loving mother of Barbara, Bobby (JoAnne), Mary Mazzarella (Leo) and Carol Rizzo (Robert). Cherished grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 1. Dear sister of George and Robert Canberg.
Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
Mary Canberg Veech, better known as "Chickie" to family and friends was a real special lady. She was a warm, compassionate fun lady. You really could not stay unhappy around her.She married my father's brother when she was 19 years old and had nearly been married 60 years before he passed away. My parents loved and thought the world of her. When I look at Aunt Chickie in old home movies she is always so animated and happy, although she did have sorrow in her life. She was a fabulous cook and made beautiful baby blankets and clothes for all the new babies that were born.My parents used to enjoy going on vacation with them, and I enjoy watching the tapes that were left behind,so I can see and hear them whenever I like.Chickie is now in paradise with her loving husband and my parents. The world is a better place for knowing her and heaven is a lovelier and funnier place with her there.
