~~~My Wonderful Maternal Pop-Pop the Best Pop any child could wish for.~~~
Beloved husband of Bridget(nee McNiff)Loving mother of Kathleen Veech (Nee O'Brien),Brother Gerard O'Brien O.S.F.,and Sister Margaret O"Brien MM.Dear Father-in-Law of Edward Veech. Adored grandfather of Patricia Veech-Cocurullo and Edward Veech Jr. My wonderful Pop-Pop was born in Belfast.He came with my Grandma sometime in the 1920's. My grandparents worked very hard all their lives and were finally able to purchase their own home on east 2nd street where they lived until their deaths. My Pop was a movie projectionist most of his life. Back in the days, whenever anyone went to the movies during special times they would receive a piece of China.Eventually my Grandmother collected a service for twelve.Although I have my own Lenox and my Mother's good china, these are the most treasured dishes I own.My grandparents were very humble people and were never interested in a lot of "stuff". They were interested in Love of God and family, things they passed down to my parents, and down to me.My daughters of course are interested in "stuff".My Pop-Pop would faint if he ever saw how much his granddaughters spend on shoes and pocketbooks alone.I know I do. LOL I was adopted and they made that sound like it was the "best thing in the world'. I used to feel sorry for anyone "who wasn't picked". I always pray that all adopted children are made to feel this way.My grandparents and parents truly were a Great Gift from a Great God, and I thank God always for them and their love.
~~~Heartfelt thanks to all who leave flowers for my beloved Pop-Pop,I read and treasure everyone and they bring me great comfort and joy.I always try to say thank you,but sometimes time slips away.~~~
