Henry Adams, 89, of California, Pa., died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005.

He was born Dec. 24, 1915, in California, Pa., son of the late John and Anna (Letrick) Adams.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of California.

Henry was the starting center for the University of Pittsburgh, and played in the 1936 Rose Bowl under the direction of Jock Sutherland.

Pitt defeated Washington 21-0 in that game.

Henry was preceded in death by parents and sister, Irene Oldham.

Left to cherish his memory is his brother-in-law, Alvin Oldham of Hastings, Pa.

Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St. California, Pa., on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when funeral services will be held in the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Min officiating. Interment will follow in Phillipsburg Cemetery.
