He was in the real estate business for 47 years, retiring in 1989 as city manager with Gallinger Real Estate. He also owned Peiffer Real Estate. Member of the Eastwood Chamber of Commerce, Eastwood Lions Club, the Greater Syracuse Board of Realtors and the Golden Agers, and a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church.
A veteran of WWII, he served as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
