Martha Sue Green, 81, of Plainview, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at her home in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Interment will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Green was born in Laurel, Miss., on May 13, 1923, to Elton and Marian Haynes Green. She moved to Tahlequah, Okla., at an early age and graduated from high school there in 1940. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1943 with a B.A. degree in elementary education. She taught school for one year and then moved to Plainview with her family. She worked with her father in Green Appliance Co. and also did substitute teaching. She married Victor E. Green in Plainview on March 13, 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church and worked for several years in the Cradle Roll Department and taught a woman's Sunday school class for many years. She also was a member of Chapter B.L. of P.E.O. and PTA while her boys were in school. She is survived by her husband, Victor E. Green of Plainview; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Zaphryn Green of Plainview and Steve and Judy Green of Waco; and one grandson, Aaron Green of Waco. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 205 W. Eighth, Plainview, TX 79072; Hale County Senior Citizens Center, 1107 Smyth, Plainview, TX 79072; or to a favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kornerstone Funeral Directors, 201 W. Fourth.
