Cody Daniel Barnett was tragically taken away from us on June 10, 2010. He was born Oct. 23, 1992, in Bozeman.

Cody lived most of his life in Helena where he attended Capital High School. He also attended high school in Belgrade. He was involved in football as a middle linebacker. He enjoyed singing with the Chamber Choir. He loved to sing and was a very gifted singer. He also tried his luck in track and field.

He was an avid fisherman and spent most of his free time fishing wherever the fish were biting. He always had the greatest luck with fishing and caught his very first northern pike just south of Toston. He was so very proud of that big fish.

Cody was a great inspiration and touched many lives. He will forever be in our hearts and souls and will forever be missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Dworshak; grandmother, Colleen Willoughby; great-grandfathers, Leo Dworshak, Paul Ross, and Paul Barnett; and great-grandmother, Retha Barnett.

Cody is survived by his parents, Michelle and Stephen Herren of Helena and Craig Barnett of Idaho; sisters, Jessica, Mackenzie, Carissa, and Lenai; and brothers, Lucus, Jayden, and Cade. Also surviving are his grandparents, Patty Dworshak, Marty and Lill Barnett, and Arlene Herren; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Dworshak, Chad and Jolene Guenther, Michael Dworshak, Chad and Kristie Barnett, and Dave and Jenelle Gibson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Belgrade Community Church. Interment will follow in Meadowview Cemetery in Manhattan.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
