The people of this community were sorry to hear of the death of D. L. Barker at his home Monday morning.
The death angels came and took him home to live with them forever more. There is a vacant place in their home that can never be filled.
Mr. Barker is survived by his mother, two brothers and five children: Dan Barker of Roanoke; Harry Barker of Beckley, W.Va.; Raymond Barker of Martinsville; Muscoe Barker of Boxwood and Mrs. J. R. Wilson of Boxwood.
The funeral services were conducted at the home of his son G. M. Barker, at Boxwood.
Interment was made in the family burial ground near the old home place.
