Mrs. Gertrude C. Armstrong, 84, wife of the late Dr. Hugh F. Armstrong, died yesterday in St. Mary's Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years.
A life-long resident of Macon County, Mrs. Armstrong was born in Blue Mound, Nov. 11, 1878, a daughter of David F. and Mary Toothaker Crawford.
She married Dr. Hugh F. Armstrong, a dentist here for 50 years, on Feb. 21, 1900 in Decatur. He died April 12, 1952.
A daughter, Mrs. Frances Armstrong Six died Dec. 16, 1962.
Requiem Mass will be at 9:30am Tuesday in St. Patrick's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
