Oddis was born in east Texas,he worked as a mechanic all his life, even owning his own little shop in Jacksonville,Texas. He took much pride in his work.He loved children. He and Susan had one chid, that went to be with our Lord when just an infant. They named her Laverne. She is burried right along side of her parents. He and Susan, his wife who is my Father's "V.R."TUT" Buckley's Sister whom we called Aunt Doodle all our lives and so did everyone else, practically raised me,my brother, and my younger sister. My parents both worked so we would stay with them during the day and sometimes my brother would just stay for weeks.Oddis or Uncle Locky as we kids called him was always there for us and especially my brother.Since their child died, they sort of adopted us as there own. Both Uncle Locky and Aunt Doodle loved us so much,so we actually had two sets of parents.Uncle Locky would let my brother ride on his shoulders all the time and he began teaching my brother how to drive in a field behind his shop when my brother was only five years old. When my brother would come home, sometimes he would cry to go back to their house in the middle of the night and our Uncle would get out of bed and come to get him.He loved us as if we were his own children and not once in my life time with him did I ever hear him say a curse word or an unkind word to anyone. He was as close to a Saint as anyone I have ever known. He came down with alziemers about one year before he passed away, which in 1976,no one had a name for it.He has gone on to be with God,but never forgotten.I love you Uncle Locky and I know Our Lord saved a special place in Heaven for you.
