Geneva Dykes, age 94, of Somerset, passed from this life on August 10, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Geneva was born on August 26, 1921, in the Ula Community of Pulaski County, daughter of the late Jesse O. and Gracie Baker Dykes. She enjoyed her flowers, quilting and listening to gospel music. Geneva loved her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her special niece, Gloria "Jeannie" (and Roger) Whitis, of Somerset; a very special grand-nephew, Johnny Whitis, of Somerset, who she loved as her own; her three sisters, Fern Vilardo, of Cincinnati, Clementine Warren, of Somerset, and Madeline (and Charles) Ping, of Somerset; her brother, Jewel Dykes, of Somerset; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend of the family, Bill Goodin, of Somerset.

Preceding Geneva in death are her parents; her five sisters, Eva Dykes, Rose Bradley, Helen Flynn, Flonnie Hardwick and Betty Goodin; and her five brothers, Commodore Dykes, Cyrus Dykes, J. Curtis Dykes, Venice Dykes, Junior Dykes, William Dykes and Arther Dykes.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 12:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Dykes and Bro. David Muse officiating. Burial will be in Goodwater Cemetery.
