Obituary published 5 Jan 1959 in "The Paris News" of Paris, Texas:

R. E. (Ed) Addy, formerly a farmer at Chicota, died Sunday 6:50 a.m. at home at Garland.

The funeral was set for 1 p.m. Monday at the Presbyterian Church at Chicota, burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery there being made by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The Rev. J. L. Wideman had charge, pallbearers being Joe Ribble, Paul Seay, Doug Freeman, Henry Price, Gus Sain, Claud Sain, Cedric Townsend and Travis Gordon.

Mr. Addy; longtime Lamar County resident, was born at Colubus, Ark., December 21, 1887.

Survivors are these children: Mrs. Doretha Colbert, Fort Worth; Mrs. Henry Jones, Rt. 1, Garland; Mrs. John H. Glass and Stanley Addy, Dallas; Mrs. E. W. Griffin, Lufkin; Mrs. Mack Flinn, Grant, Okla.; Gene Addy of Sherman, and "Chief" Addy, Sanger; 27 other descendants, and a sister, Mrs. Jim Hester, McNabb, Ark.
