Visitation will be on Friday, March 27th at Riverwood Family Funeral Service from 11-2pm.The funeral service will be at 2pm in the Riverwood Chapel. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
Charles B. Beeson closed his beautiful blue eyes for the last time, as he passed away peacefully in the Life Care Center of Orange Park, Florida on March 20, 2015 at the age of 84.
He was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi on August 19, 1930 to Loy and Mary Hemphill Beeson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brunell Beeson; 3 sisters, Geneva Waldrop, Vera Guitreau, Althea Proctor; and 2 brothers, Walter Beeson and Hayward Beeson. He is survived by 1 brother, J. L. Beeson of Monticello, Mississippi.
Charles was retired from the U.S. Navy at NAS Cecil Field after 22 years of faithful service. He was a gunners’ mate who worked specifically with special weapons, and served proudly during the Korean War.
He took great pride in his assignment on the USS Lake Champlain which was on special assignment to recover a Gemini splashdown.
After Navy retirement, he worked as a civil servant at NAS JAX for several years. Charles was an avid fisherman and devoted family man.
He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Bonnie Lambert Beeson of Orange Park, Florida, and three children: Cathy Beeson Bridge (Kim), of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Vicki Beeson Kelly (John) of Fleming Island, Florida and Charles Randall “Randy” Beeson (Annette) of Middleburg, Florida.
He leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Joe Kelly, Kristy Kelly Perry, Tyler Bridge, Jeff Kelly, Nicholas Bridge and Stephanie Beeson; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
