Ray M. Anderson, 79, of 23 E. Seventh St., retired employee of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp., died in his home Tuesday morning. He was born November 26, 1889, in Pleasantville, a son of George and Jennie Dawson Anderson, and lived in Oil City since June 1, 1918, coming here from Titusville.

Mr. Anderson and the former Helen Strang were married April 9, 1909. She died April 16, 1962. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Anderson retired 12 years ago when he was 67 after 18 years's service with Jones and Laughlin. Before that he had worked as a machinist for National Transit.

Surviving are two sons, Donald K. and Kenneth R. Anderson of Oil City; a sister, Mrs. Maude Heath of Warren, Ohio, and 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Dale, is deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Hugh Crocker, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Pleasantville.
