Howard "Howie" C. Brush, 66, of Sheffield, PA, died surrounded by his family on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home, Warren, PA, after a two year battle with brain cancer. He was born August 5, 1948 in Kane, PA. He was the son of LeRoy "Roy" P. and Elaine Rose Bastow Brush, Jr. He was a longtime Sheffield area resident and a 1967 graduate of Sheffield High School. He had earned his Associates Degree in Business. Howard was Director of the North West Regional office for Governor Ed Rendell from 2002 until 2010 and served as a Warren County Commissioner from 1995 until 2002. He had previously been employed with Howe's True Value, former Struthers Wells Corporation, former National Forge Company and Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Corporation. He was a member of Sheffield United Methodist Church, the church men's bible study and a former church council member. He had previously been a coach for Little League Baseball teams, was a member of Sheffield Rod and Gun Club, former member and past president of the Sheffield Sports Boosters. He enjoyed his grandchildren and even children who were not his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed traveling to Florida.
