Joseph William Byram, son of, Joseph Jr. and Abigail Thompson (Harris) Byram.

Joseph William Byram married Maria Jane Ross on January 19, 1851 in Knoxville, Knox Co., Illinois. Maria Jane Ross was the daughter of James and Mary (Plummer) Ross.

John Sanford, Wiley Ross, Stella Harriette, Lemuel Wade, Frank William, Mary Adaline, Lannie Jane, and Fred Breecher Byram.

Joseph and family lived in Galesburg, Illinois and Abingden, Illinois until 1864, when they moved to Kansas. Maria and the girls came to Kansas on the train. Joseph and his four sons made the trip overland with two teams and wagons and a few head of cattle. Joseph was educated by his older brother Elias. In 1870 he was hired by the US Government to survey in central Kansas.

In 1880 Joseph moved to Cedar Point Kansas and farmed. He was also the Station Agent at Cedar Point and taught telegraphy to his daughter Lannie.

Joseph died of a heart attack while on a journey to visit his son in Oklahoma. Maria lived with among her children until her death in 1905. Maria is buried in Cedar Point Cemetery, near her husband.

Thomas and Elizabeth were married in Illinois. They next moved to northern Kansas where he farmed for many years. They spent their last few years with their daughter, Addied Byram Crawford, Clements Kansas, where they both died. Thomas was a wagon maker by trade, he also farmed. They were members of the Presbyterian Church.
