One of eight children born to Eleazer and Louise (Kingsley) Beebe.

Dr. Beebe graduated from New York Medical College on March 8, 1854 with a Cerificate of Honor, which indicates he did a slightly longer and more rigorous course of study. He married Julia D. Stanbro on June 21, 1857. He practiced medicine at Hubbarville and Lebanon in Madison County, New York.
He enlisted in the Union Army on August 18, 1862 and was commissioned as an Assistant Surgeon in the 157th New York Infantry. Dr. Beebe participated with his Regiment in the Battles of Chancellorville, Gettysburg and other actions. He contracted inflamaroty rheumatism and malaria and received a disablity discharge on November 9, 1863 at Folly Island, SC.
He resumed his practice in Hamilton, NY in 1864. Dr. Beebe held several positions in the community, including President of Hamilton Village (1875-1876) and served as a delegate to the American Medical Association for Hamilton County Medical Society. He died on April 21, 1893 and was survived by his wife and four children.
