SP4. KIA. C/4/9th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army. Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall: Panel 41E, Line 47. Graduate of Olney High School, Philadelphia. SP4 Aleshire was awarded the Silver Star Medal. The citation for this award states in part "for conspicuious gallantry and intrepidity in action against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam, Specialist Fourth Class Aleshire distinguished himself by intrepid actions while serving with Company C, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. His unquestionable valor in close combat is in keeping with the highest tradition of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 25th Infantry Division, and the United States Army."
