Enlisted on June 17, 1863 at Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan as a Private in the 1st Michigan Sharpshooters Regiment, Company K. Wounded on June 17, 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia. Died in the Lincoln General Hospital at Washington, D.C. of pulmonary congestion due to wounds received. (He is also known as Oliver Ar-Pe-Targe-Zhik and Arvetorgesheg.)
