Crispin was shot Sunday night as he searched five men in a park in the 2200 block of Crystal Grove Lane, according to police and court documents. Police have charged a 19 yr old with his shooting.
Crispin had been a police officer for 18 months. He began his career at the Lakeland Police Department in June 2010. He attended the Lakeland Police Department Mini-Academy and had finished the Field Training Program.

LAKELAND - Officer Arnulfo Crispin, 25, of The Lakeland Police Department, died December 19, 2011, in the line of duty.
Officer Crispin was born in Tampa, Florida, grew up in Mulberry, graduated from Mulberry High School where he was a star athlete on the football and soccer teams and later, graduated from Polk State College. Officer Crispin relocated to Lakeland a year and a half ago.
Officer Crispin served with The Lakeland Police Department for the past 18 months. He attended River of God Christian Church.
Officer Crispin is survived by his mother and father, Tomas and Margarita Crispin of Mulberry; three sisters, Judy Crispin, Mulberry, FL, Maria Crispin, Toledo, OH, Brenda Velasquez, Mulberry, FL; five brothers, Israel Crispin, Mexico, Tomas Crispin, Jr., Mulberry, FL, Jose Frankie Crispin, Plant City, FL, Margarito Crispin, Mulberry, FL, Joel Crispin, Mulberry, FL; Maternal Grandfather, Catarino Perez, Mexico; Paternal grandmother Ernestina Carbajal, San Diego, CA; Paternal Grandparents, Rafael and Inez Crispin, Mexico.
Visitation will take place Monday, December 26, 2011 from 6 to 9 PM at Resurrection Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 27, 2011 at 10 AM at Victory Assembly of God. Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in charge of arrangements.
