LOGAN, W.Va. — Thelma B. Adkins, 86, of Logan, departed this life Monday, December 13, 2010, in Lundale.

Born May 28, 1924, in Shively, she was a daughter of the late French and Rachel Curry Bryant. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Elva Adkins; seven sisters, Anna Mae Carter, Virginia Adkins, Penny Snyder, Addie Gerbasi, Nellie Adkins, Lois Jean Bryant and Tiny Bryant, and one brother, John Bryant.

Thelma enjoyed spending time with her family and friend, baking, cooking and quilting.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Gregory Adkins of Chapmanville; two sisters, Hattie Nadratowski and Ila Scaggs, both of Ohio; two grandchildren, Brucie Adkins and Steven Adkins, both of Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Jenson and Chase; a cousin, Claude and his wife Josephine, who was also her primary caregivers at the time of her passing; a special niece, Pamela Thompson of Harts, and the mother of her grandchildren, Donna Adkins of Ohio.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18 at the Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Carter officiating. Thelma will be laid to rest in the Butcher-Bryant Family Cemetery at Shively

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
