DEATH OF MRS. FRANK BENNETT

RESPECTED MIDLAND LADY DIED FRIDAY OF CANCER-FUNERAL MONDAY

After an illness of many months Mrs. Frances E., wife of Frank Bennett of this city, passed away Friday noon at the home of her son, Earl W. Bennett on Rodd street, aged 54 years. She had been a patient sufferer from cancer for a long time and underwent two operations for its removal, first in December 1909 and again in October 1910. Last Novemeber she went to Chicago and remained there
with her son Stacy Bennett until May, when she returned to Midland and remained with her son, Earl W. until her death.

Francis Eudorah Ostrander was born July 14, 1857, in St. Clair county, Mich., and came to Midland county with her parents at an early age. She received her education in the schools of this city and at the age of fourteen was granted a teacher's certificate. For three years she taught in Hope township and then for two years at the Waldo school in Larkin.

September 17, 1876, she was united in marriage with Frank Bennett. Three children were born to them; Earl W., who is auditor of the Dow Chemical Co., Stacy of Chicago, and Mrs. Clara Farr of Midland township. The family for a time
made its home in North Carolina returning to Midland in 1890.

The funeral services were held at the home of E. W. Bennett Monday, at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. J. H. Lowe and the body was laid at rest in Midland cemetery. Thomas Bennett, and Mr. and Mrs. Will G. Thompson of Newaygo, and Mrs. A. C. Barclay of Bad Axe were present at the funeral. The deceased was a faithful worker and member of the Baptist church of this city and for four years was
president of the Ladies Aid Society.
