Mrs. Eva Victoria Bennett, 90, widow of Dr. Earl W. Bennett, onetime chairman of the board of directors of Dow Chemical Company, died Monday. She was found in her home at 714 West Main. Mrs. Bennett was born June 16, 1887, in Toronto, the second child in a family of four-children. Her parents were the Rev. and Mrs. A. C. Barclay, who moved to Midland in the early part of this century.
The Rev. Mr. Barclay was pastor of the First Baptist Church. The former Eva Barclay marrried Dr. Bennett on Aug. 9, 1905. Dr. Bennett was treasurer and then chairman of Dow Chemical Company before his death in 1973. Survivors include fours sons, Robert B., of Midland; Willard V., of Miami; David S., of Harbor Oaks, and Thomas J., of Miami; four daughters; Mrs. Alden (Vada) Dow, of Midland; Mrs. Alden (Helen) Hanson, of Midland; Mrs. Charles (Grace) Reed, of Houston; and Mrs. Bailey (Barbara) Bobbitt, of Miami, 19 grandchildren and 29
great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Joseph Mortensen will officiate. Burial will be in Midland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ware Smith Funeral Home.
