Funeral service for William Lawrence Anderson, 55, who died Saturday after a brief illness were held today at 2 p.m. at the Rockledge Baptist Church, Attalla. Interment was in Forrest cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

He had been a farmer for the past 15 years and had been in business in Gadsden prior to that time. Anderson was a member of the Rockledge Baptist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Della Mae Anderson; five sons, Carl R. Anderson, Bevard Gray Anderson and Thomas Edward Anderson, all of Attalla Route 1, William Howell Anderson, East Gadsden and Pfc. Donald M. Anderson, Ft. Bragg, N.C.; one brother, Alonzo Anderson, Gadsden; six sisters, Mrs. Inez Scofield, Alabama City, Mrs. Louise Huff, Gadsden, Mrs. Ola Odum, Texas, Mrs. Cora Mayo, Attalla, Mrs. Viola Winkle, Collinsville and Mrs. Annie Holloway, Altoona and mother, Mrs. Mary Anderson, Gadsden.
