KEITH E. BAKER, 89, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 5, 2015 at Via Christi/St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Born on March 23, 1926 in Dexter, Kansas, he was the son of Emery and Hazel J. (Matthews) Baker. He was raised and received his education in Dexter, graduating from Dexter High School in 1943.

A veteran of World War II., Mr. Baker proudly served his country in the United States Army. Keith was a tank driver and MI Sharpshooter. He held the rank of Sergeant at the time he was honorably discharged on June 19, 1946.

Keith was united in marriage to Wilma L. (Brown) Williams on July 14, 1972 in Winfield and they made their home on their farm west of Dexter. Wilma preceded him in death on January 16, 1996.

He was a member of the Winfield Masonic Lodge #110, and the American Legion Post #10. He enjoyed his family, farming and ranching.

His family includes: His sons: Terry Williams and wife Donna of Hesston, KS; and Rick Williams of Wichita, KS; His daughter; Sondra Pearson of Wichita, KS; His brother: Norman Baker of Winfield, KS; His 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 nieces. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son in law, Roger Pearson; his daughter in law, Carol Ann Williams; his brother, Wayne Baker and his granddaughter, Ronda Pearson.

Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 10. 2015 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., and the family will greet visitors during that time.

A memorial has been established in Keith’s name for the Dexter High School FFA. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
