Born to James Alexander & Mary Boteler Connelly Logan in Cloverdale, IN. He married Miss Mary Harrison "Mollie" Oliver in Anderson, KY on 24 DEC 1876. The couple lived briefly in Pleasentville, IA where their eldest daughter, Jessie Gay was born (see: Parrott, Jessie G, Beulah Cemetery, Colby KS listing).

The family moved to Des Moines, IA where Frank worked at the RR machine shop. Two of their children, born in Pleasentville, Marion County, Iowa died in infancy; Amy Greene Logan (11Dec1877-10Mar1880) and Walter Scott (09Feb1882-11Feb1883).

In 1886, the small family moved to Smith Center, KS where 3 other children were born (including this authors Grandfather, Marion F. Logan). Frank tried farming which was not profitable. When the R&I RR was built through Smith County, Frank hired on until the line was finished.

In 1895 the Logan family moved to Mingo, in Thomas County and settled on a farm south of Mingo. Three other children were born here. One son, John Baker "Johnny", died after ingesting lye and was interred at the Mingo cemetery. In August 1896, Mollie died from Typhoid fever and was buried next to her infant son, John Baker "Johnnie" Logan.

Frank moved with his young children to Colby where he had family living. He never remarried. He went to work for Dick Chelf & Ora Day at the Colby Flour Mill.

Six of Frank & Mollie Logan's children lived to adulthood and had families of their own: Jessie Gaye Logan Parrott, Oren Chester "Jack" Logan, Fayette Lee Logan Bell, Marion Francis Logan, Robert Cleveland Logan, and Margaret Nunley Logan Bell.

James Franklin Logan died on FEB 5, 1923, he now rests beside his son, John Baker "Johnnie" Logan, and beloved wife, Mollie.

James was also a 3rd Degree Mason. His father, James Franklin Logan, was a 23rd Degree Mason and Grand Master of the lodge in Colby Kansas.
