Bates, Delores 82, of Irving, Texas, died Thursday, February 17, 2011. Born September 19, 1928 in Rising Star, Texas, the daughter of Lester and Essie Mae Kirkland, she married R. C. "Bob" Bates December 12, 1947 in Dallas. She retired from the Southland Corporation. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Irving. Preceded in death by her husband in 2008, and a sister Joyce West, she is survived by her children, Linda Cannon and husband Gary of Carrollton, Jerry Bates and wife Jenny and Terry Bates and wife Gina all of Irving; two sisters, Jean Green of Arlington and Christine Keel of Brownwood; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Visitation 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home; Funeral 1:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Burial at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
