Stella Lucille Alexander, age 96, of Bloomington, died Friday afternoon at Bell Trace.

Born August 12, 1912 in Dolan, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and Rose Scales. She was retired after 50 years as a teacher with the MCCSC. She last taught at Childs Elementary School. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She loved children and her family.

She is survived by her son, Ron Alexander of Griffin, Georgia; two granddaughters, Jane Smith of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Julia Alexander of Dothan, Alabama; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander Lund, Grace Smith and Luke Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orland Alexander, in 1982; and five siblings.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Day Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
