Mary Arla, daughter of Oliver H. P. and Irene Cathrine Allen Reynolds, was born Nov. 10, 1884 at Allerton, Iowa, and died at the Worth County Convalescent Home, Grant City, MO., Feb. 8, 1980, age 95 years.
She grew up and attended school in the Allerton vicinity before moving south of Leon where she continued her schooling.
Arla was married to Fred Alley in August 1904 at Mt. Ayr, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.
Most of her life was spent in the Leon area before moving to Des Moines to be with daughter, Marie, and then to Grant City, 15 years ago.
She attended the Christian and the Baptist Church in Des Moines and Grant City.
Preceding her in death were parents; son Raymond Keith; four brothers, Guy, Merritt, Carl and Perry Reynolds; two sisters, Flora Kendall and infant Jessie.
Survivors include three daughters: Dale Bright, Jamestown, Calif.; Winona Naylor and husband Amos, Decatur, Iowa; and Marie Wilkens, Grant City, MO.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 25 great, great grandchildren; sister, Irene Akes, Billings, MO.; three brothers, Ross, Harry and Thad Reynolds, all of Leon; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
