Sam was born November 14, 1903 in Fort Worth and Married Marion Elizabeth Woody in Dallas October 8, 1927. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Decatur and was a rancher.

Survivors are his wife; daughters, Carolyn Phelps of Conroe, Texas, and Beth Hoyt of Dallas; son, Sam Woody Acola of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Maxine Turtur of Houston and Gary Phelps of Conroe.

Sam Acola, 78, of Decatur died Tuesday, March 9 in a Decatur hospital.

Services for the 42-year resident of Decatur are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. The Rev. G.C. Randolph will officiate. Burial will be in Deep Creek Cemetery.

Acola, born Nov. 14, 1903 in Fort Worth, married Marian Woody, Oct. 8, 1927 in Dallas. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Other survivors include: a son, Sam Woody Acola of Fort Worth; daughters Carolyn Phelps of Conroe and Beth Hoyt of Dallas; and grandchildren Maxine Turner of Houston and Gary Phelps of Conroe.
