Helene Chadwick was an American actress in Silent film and in early sound film. Helene started her film career in New York in 1916 and moved to Hollywood in 1938. She starred in a number of silent films and at the advent of sound, she appeared in a few films then left the screen. Helene died at 41 years of age from injuries sustained in an accident in June of 1940. She was married at one time to director William Wellman - they divorced in 1923.

Helene Chadwick is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, New York. Dean family plot Lot #228, Section 40.
After her death on 9/5/40 she was cremated and her remains were buried in the Chadwick family plot in the Sauquoit Valley Cemetery on 9/30/40. Her name was also inscribed on the large family monument in the center of the plot. (Her grandfather was a founder and first president of the cemetery.)
On 7/18/1941 her remains were disinterred, moved to Forest Hill and buried in the Dean plot. I suspect her mother had this done because of family problems due to the fact that she and Helene's father were divorced many years before.
I am going to have (buried in Forest Hill Cemetery) inscribed on the monument later this year (2019) because of the confusion.
