Angelo Paul Angarano was the son of Italian immigrants Frank and Virginia Troisi Angarano, who immigrated to America from Bisceglie, Puglia, Italy on the Adriatic Coast. His parents, along with many other Italian immigrants, settled in Fresno, CA, because the warm climate was similar to that of their native country.

His dad was a hard working self-made man and inspired in his son the same values.

Angelo attended St. Alphonsus Elementary School and then Edison High School.

During World War II, he was stationed in Foggia, Italy. He was part of the United States 15th Air Force Bomb Group Ordnance that prepared B-17 bombers for missions against the German forces.

After the war, Angelo went back to college and received a Master's Degree from Stanford University. He taught philosophy for many years at Fresno City College. He is the author of three books, Early Poems, Selected Short Stories, and Mark of Priapus. He frequently read his stories on Valley Writer's Read, Valley Public Radio. Earlier in his life, he wrote book reviews for The Fresno Bee.

He is survived by a niece, Gloria Cabral and husband Mike; and his dear friend Carol. Angelo had an older sister, Angela, who is now deceased.

There will be a private graveside service. Remembrances may be made in Angelo's name to the donor's favorite charity.
