Eugene Augustine Ambrosini was born in Fresno, California on July 18, 1922(to Italian immigrants John and Katie Ambrosini), and passed from this life peacefully, with family at his side on Friday, August 21, 2015.

Eugene attended St. Alphonsus Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Johns High School. He was also very involved with the support of St. Alphonsus during his childrens' education. Eugene remained in the Fresno area for the duration of his life.

After WWII he and brother Chester operated the family dairy farm started by their parents and he worked the ranch through his later years. Eugene was a member of the Raisin City Co-op and the Verdi Club.

His greatest loves were his family and friends, followed by farming and animals. He and his wife loved their frequent trips to Reno, Nevada. He enjoyed swing and big band music, and was a master at instigating mischief amongst family and friends. He was known by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmel; and his brother Harry. He is survived by his brother, Chester Ambrosini; his nephew, John; his sons, Eugene and wife Janet, Richard and wife Cindy, Harry and wife Debbie; his daughter, Cathi Scherer and husband Steve; his granddaughters, Jennifer Marquez and husband Derek, Katie Fenters and husband Benjamin; and his grandson, Bryan Ambrosini and wife Kimberly; and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to Catholic Charities or the donor's favorite charity.
